Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-centric individual to join our vibrant Desktop Support team. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing first-line technical assistance to our employees across the globe. You will troubleshoot a wide range of hardware and software issues, configure desktops and laptops, and ensure all systems are up-to-date and functioning optimally.

This role is a perfect fit for someone with a strong foundation in computer hardware and software, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical issues related to desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Provide remote technical support to employees via phone, email, and remote access tools.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software according to company standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, antivirus scans, and data backups.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior support personnel when necessary.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with employees.
  • Proactively identify and suggest improvements to enhance desktop support processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of a diploma or associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a desktop support role or related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems (10/11 preferred).
  • Working knowledge of hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in a variety of desktop applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers, and email clients.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Experience

This role is open to both recent graduates (freshers) and experienced professionals. For freshers, a strong academic background in computer science or IT and a willingness to learn are highly valued. For experienced professionals, a minimum of 1 year of experience in a desktop support role is required.
